Bring back the Birch!

Posted on

Back by popular demand, LFT warmly welcomes former forester and birch expert Bryce Reynard to Strathmashie for a birch craft workshop.

Mr Reynard is able to make all kinds of items from this tree, from its bark, trunk, twigs and even its roots. He offers a cornucopia of items for display, with some for sale including buttons, pencils, whistles and jewellery. At the workshop he will show you the tricks of his trade and help you make your very own birch craft items to take home.

The workshop will take place outside Laggan Forest Trust’s office at Laggan Wolftrax, Strathmashie on Saturday 27th October. Places will be limited, so please book ahead. People of all ages are welcome to attend although children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, who will also have to book a place.

Places are subsidised by Laggan Forest Trust, so that the cost to attendees for the two hour course is a bargain five pounds. Three workshops are available, one beginning at 10am, the next at 1pm and the final workshop at 3.30pm.

To book a place please call Iona Malcolm on 01528 544366 or e-mail her at projects@lagganforest.com.
