Activities

Visitors to the forest can enjoy Nature Walks on our footpaths and bridle-ways at any time of year. See our Events Calendar for organised Nature Walks where local experts will help you spot red squirrels, edible plants and native trees

A common sight these days is the lesser-spotted mountain biker. Read more about this colourful species on our Mountain Biking page.

There are also orienteering courses for all ages in the forest including a Teddy Bear's picnic for smaller adventurers.

Conservation is an on-going task, and Laggan Forest Trust works closely with the Forestry Commission Scotland to care for Strathmashie and its flora and fauna.

This work includes regular tree-planting to replace crops felled in harvests. Visitors and locals alike can participate in our Tree-planting days.
