The Roundhouse

The bunkhouse is set in the fields of a working farm overlooking the beautiful river Spey valley in the Cairngorms National Park. It is easily accessible by road or rail, just three miles west of Newtonmore.

Here the pedigree Highland cattle of The Ubhaidh fold are bred and cared for, sharing pastures,woods and wetlands with many wild animals.

The farm nestles at the foot of the mountainous wilderness of the Monadhliath range. The cliffs of Creag Dhubh, the Black Mountain beloved by Clan Macpherson and rock climbers alike, form an unforgettable backdrop.

The area is famed for its outdoor opportunities from hiking, climbing,canoeing to organised events: check out Highland Activities. It shares the prime outdoor recreational opportunities of the Cairngorm National Park: hiking, climbing, mountain-biking just for starters. Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve, Laggan Wolftrax Mountain Biking Centre, the Cairngorn Funicular Railway & Ski Centre and many other stunning locales are close by.

The accommodation is let only to one group at a time -ideal for sharing as a family group or friends and colleagues looking for time together. We welcome groups celebrating special events such as weddings & handfastings, birthdays and special achievements. We also aim to assist working groups, for personal or professional development and make the farmland available for the purpose (depending on seasonal requirements).
