Laggan 10k Run & Fun Run

It all started by then resident and keen runner Pat Goddard in 2003, the Laggan 10k is the main fundraiser for Gergask Primary School and has built up a solid core of willing volunteers, without whom the race could not take place.  The race also has its regular runners, with one devotee having completed each race over the years.  As well as the 10k there is a 1 mile long fun run for kids, which has seen keen mini racers and some funny costumes in the past, with everyone who takes part earning a well deserved medal.  A fantastic array of home-baking provided by the local church ladies allows everyone to restore their sugar levels after the race.  This year there will be fresh, healthy lunches available to buy from exciting new local venture “The Lunchbox Boys” so dust off your running shoes and come and join in.

The Route: An “out and back” course from Laggan Village Hall with spectacular scenery along the road leading to the beautiful Corrieyairack Pass, as featured in the hit BBC drama “Monarch of the Glen”.

Teas in Laggan Hall after the race. All proceeds to Gergask Primary School, Laggan. Prizes for all categories.
